Premiere Issue of ePublish Yourself!

The Challenge

The founders of ePublish Yourself!, John Jerney and Lee Purcell, needed a way to reach out to the extended independent author community through channels other than the primary website. An electronic magazine seemed to be the ideal way to drive ongoing interest in the site and attract new visitors. Although the project is currently on hiatus, it offers a good model of what can be done with an epublishing ezine.

The Solution

Working in Adobe InDesign, under guidance from Jacqueline Bell, owner of Bell Designs, Inc., the electronic magazine gradually took shape, including interviews, how-to articles, news items, and editorial perspectives. For distribution, ISSU was selected in light of its PDF display capabilities and easy access newsstand. You can view the premiere issue here.
